Touches of Easter

I picked up some ceramic Easter eggs at the local ceramic shop. They did not have a great selection and had very few on hand. I bought what they had - 7 random sized eggs for $11.50. Not too bad of a price, I guess. I've never bought unfinished ceramics before so I don't know how the pricing goes. I used several coats of paint to figure out what kind of finish I wanted. I ended up using a rag to "sponge" the paint on. I did a robin's egg blue and then a pale yellow that I sponged a lighter yellow & white on top of. Once the acrylic paint dried, I used a natural sponge to speckle them. I just ran across a tutorial to paint & speckle plastic eggs. I never thought of this! Check it out here.

  5. These are pretty! I need to do this with some wooden eggs, since our house looks pretty bare around this time of year.
