Autumn is blooming!

Since returning home from vacation, I've dove into fall decorating and creating! I made a few autumn rosette clusters today for Sarah Found Sarah Made. I thought they turned out cute - they are even cuter on! Perfect to clip on a cardigan, scarf or purse!

I attempted a new autumn wreath too - so far, I'm loving it! The fabric bunting is just pinned on so I can change it out if I'd like. The rosettes are a cluster pin that I stuck on too. It's hanging from a strip of orange fabric that I tacked to the very top of the door for a custom & seamless look! I do love that I can change the wreath up for each holiday/season. I am contemplating adding a big fabric bow to the top... still undecided.

I hung last year's wreath on our entry mirror and added the J this year.

I've finished my mantle and just need to finish up the decor in the dining room. Next up, planting pansies, mums and kales! Pin It

Simple Fall Wreath

I made an easy fall wreath yesterday and I’m loving the simplicity of it!

I used a foam wreath form from Dollar Tree and hot glued strips of burlap around it to cover the foam. Then I simply made fabric rosettes using fabric. I stuck circles of the orange gingham behind the two orange rosettes and hot glued them one. I cut a strip of the orange fabric to hang the wreath – I tacked the fabric to the very top of my door so it’s a seamless transition.

Looking at my pictures, I think I need to turn the wreath a little to get the rosettes more on the side… maybe tomorrow….

Autumn is in the Air!

I thought I would share a few of the touches of autumn around our house...

My lovely hutch... I stuck a few tiny pumpkins and gourds with raffia on them in here. It really doesn't show up well in pics. The current arrangement on my dining room table. A cornucopia of fall finds along with fall leaf votives (found at Dollar General for .75 each!!!).

My beautiful gourds!!!

The mantel.. notice the previous mentioned wallpaper too.

My fridge... like the cookbook propping up the sign? It's not visible from the ground thankfully. The berry wreath was a large candle ring at Hobby Lobby. I bought the wreath holder at Family Dollar for $1 last year. I bought the Happy Fall sign at Hobby Lobby for $3.50... it was half off!

Let me know if you post your fall or Thanksgiving decor! I love inspiration!

Candy dish = personalized decor

I've been so busy lately and finding time to post has become difficult. I thought I'd share a little idea I came up with in October. I now have a few ideas to improve it - #1 being a paint marker! My local Walmart didn't have a brown one so I had to do without. (Have I mentioned that we live an hour from the nearest Hobby Lobby? Pure torture!) I also realized that my fine paint brush was in awful shape and have since bought a new one.

I bought four of these candy dishes at Dollar General for $3 each. I thought they were super cute and had great potential to become an easy wall hanging.

So, simple that I really don't know if instructions are really needed.... I just painted the last name of each of our family members onto the plate. The nice thing about the slick surface - I could wipe off my big mistakes with a paper towel and start over! I also used a q-tip for some correcting.

I hot glued ribbon to the back... I used a ton of hot glue because I didn't want to chance one of these babies crashing to the ground... or worse, landing on one of my dear nephew or niece's head. I traced around the base of the dish onto felt and hot glued it to the back. The felt covers the ugly-ness of the gobbs of hot glue and protects the wall.

I bought some Christmas candy dishes at Dollar General to personalize as well. I will post those when I get them completed.
