My Treasure Chest!

I found this little treasure at a garage sale last weekend…. as in, I’m a week late posting it! This baby has been giving me a run for my money. :) This chest was the lovely price of $30… I couldn’t pass it up! It’s so beautiful with the metal embossing.IMG_5515

It has the original lining intact.. it’s really a lovely design. IMG_5492 IMG_5493 It even has the tray! I’ve never run across a trunk with the tray in it!IMG_5494 IMG_5495 IMG_5496

Love the details on this trunk.

  5. My mother's hope chest is just the same style and design on the sides. She whitewashed in in the late 60's. I love it, yours is awesome!

  6. Beautiful trunk! We found one a while back, but it doesn't have a tray. You really got a great deal!

  7. How lucky that it still has its tray! it's a charming old trunk -- my Mom had one that followed her all over the country many decades ago. I wonder what tales your trunk could tell? (Was going to say, "what tales your chest could tell" but somehow that didn't sound right!)

  8. Gorgeous trunk, at a great price! Such pretty detail on the inside, and out! You're lucky to have the tray too. My trunk didn't have one. Now you're making me kinda wish I hadn't given my trunk to my sister!

  12. Hello,
I have the VERY same trunk. It was passed down to me by my MIL. Mine is also missing the leather handle strap on one end.I do not have the tray therefore I use my trunk to store extra blankets. We love it and have received many compliments. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I have enjoyed mine!!
