More initial hangings...

Here are two initial plaque type things I've made for Christmas gifts this year.... shhh... don't tell. :) I'm swearing everyone to secrecy!

These would probably be the main feature of my etsy store.... if I ever get around to it! Ha ha!

Thought I would share this though for those who want to make their own.... just a simple plaque painted with scrapbook papers glued on. Distressed and coated. Super easy... just time consuming to let each coat dry... I like to paint the backs of them so they looked finished too.

  3. These look great!! I have done this a couple times with similar plaques and can never get the paper just right -- do you measure and cut the paper or do you put in on and then use an x-acto knife? Does that make sense? :)

I cut the paper a little larger than the plaque and adhere it. Once the glue dries, I just sand the edges of the paper off. I got the idea from Joys of Home blog to sand the edges of the paper so it's just the right size. Works like a charm!
