Party, party, party!!!!

Thank you, girls, for all the wonderful comments on the below post!!! I've enjoyed reading through them!!! I like the polka dot idea... I had been thinking the same thing! I'm going to see if I can find some polka dot plates. I have solid red napkins - leftover clearance from last year's Christmas that I am planning on using.

I thought I would share a few pictures from last year's 1st birthday. We had it in our backyard... I did a classic boy type theme - greens & blues.

I made pinwheels for the tables using coordinating scrapbook papers. I found the instructions here. I put them in pastel blue & green pails that I found at the dollar store in the Easter section. I filled the buckets with sand to hold the pinwheels.

I got the idea for the Happy Birthday banner here. I printed the letters out on card stock and then used my craft knife to cut them out. I then glued them to colored card stock. I also made a banner with his name to hang across the table. I printed the blue circles out on my computer with the letters in it and then used my circle cutter to cut them out.

I had tons of balloons. Unfortunately, it was a windy day so the balloons were not cooperating. We tied them all over, and many of the popped. We do live in one of the windiest spots in the state. And crazy me, is planning on doing another backyard party...

I kept the food simple - veggie tray, croissant sandwiches, chips & salsa, peanut butter cookies and of course, cake!

Here's the invite... I used a digital scrapbook kit I found here.

I used the graphics to make a custom birthday boy onesie... I just purchased a pack of iron on transfers, made my design, flipped it backwards (very important step!), and ironed it onto a onesie we already had. Very cheap yet custom!

I also printed the party hat design onto card stock and cut them out. I glued them to toothpicks for little picks for the croissant sandwiches. I had planned on doing more, but my grandfather had a stroke two or three days before the party so that put my life on hold.

I think that about sums it up. My mom asked me if I am going to top last year... that's not really the plan, but who knows? We are on a tight budget this year, so it will be interesting to see what I can pull off with what we have! A fun challenge!

Oh, I also feel I should tell you that my talented photographer sister took all the above pictures! I'm so lucky to have a free photographer and am so grateful for the wonderful pictures she took!!!!
